Perhaps first year of electric start on Sportsters. All original except peanut gas tank & Corbin saddle. The grandson rode it a few miles, as did I. 1968 XLH Sportster =- NO RESERVE 16,500 original miles, 900 cc, shifter on the right Sold to me by the grandson of original owner (that was his Grandmother– his grandad had an FLH and this was the sporty for the wife, but apparently she put it down at a traffic light and then never rode it again)

The big tank with the streetbike style works well for me, and in this case is perfectly complimented by the semi flat-track bars that give plenty of control in the urban environment.

The last 883 I rode was fitted with the diminutive 2.25 US Gallon fuel tank, and I thought at the time it was too small, but considered the extra Gallon of the King Sportster tank made it that little bit too big. We don't have the choice now and the King Sporty tank has redefined the shape to such an extent that a flick back to old catalogues makes the original tank look tiny. I think it gets away with it because it has adopted the larger tank without.

Is not perfect as it is 41 years old: the speedo has cracked from age but the gauges are not as yellow as most, there are scratches on the tank here and there - they don't show well in pics but they are there, there is a bit of acid stain on the swing arm and scratches throughout.
